Production Supervisor

Position Overview:

Supervise the manufacture of all products including the execution of production flow improvements, allocating resources, equipment maintenance, quality and employee performance, safety, and training.

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

  • Ensure all quality, efficiency and production objectives achieved.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, worker performance and quality of product.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, quality, purchasing and production teams to address and resolve equipment issues. 
  • Maintain accurate production records, time keeping methods, and documentation as required by company policies and procedures.
  • Administer company policies/procedures while resolving employee issues including progressive discipline.
  • Lead and motivate employees. Improve employee’s performance through coaching and training.
  • Ensures that all production employees comply with all company and government legislated health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to employees concerns in a timely manner and work with HR to resolve any stress or frustrations. We pride ourselves in a team like environment.
  • Advise and assist management implementing any objectives, policies, and other controls required to improve productivity.
  • Continuous improvement and efficiency oriented, promotes and maintains a clean and organized shop.
  • Ensure company safety policies for personnel and operation of machinery are adhered to.
  • Coverage for Production Coordinator when needed.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations for production employees.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • 5 or more years in a supervisory role in custom metal manufacturing, machining or similar environment.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 2015 and other Quality programs such as Nuclear or Aerospace. 
  • Automated production equipment setup, software, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP System experience an asset.
  • Familiar with 5S or similar organizational methods.
  • Inspection and calibration skills essential.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and judgement calls to keep production on task.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities on a daily basis.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Familiar with Autocad and Solidworks for navigating 3d drawings experience an asset.
  • Solid analytical skills with knowledge of process improvement techniques.
  • Post secondary education in quality control, business management or related trades an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, organization, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Employment Standards, OHSA and safety regulations.
  • Highly self-motivated with a great attitude
